Outrageous Fortune Season 6 hits it big!

The Outrageous Fortune cast and crew got together at Robyn Malcolm’s place on the shows premiere night to celebrate and watch the episode as it aired on TV3.

Here’s a celebratory pic (right) of Antonia with her fellow cast/crew members which was put online at the official Outrageous Fortune Twitter. Antonia herself left a little tweet reading, “hi it’s Antonia Prebble here, we are all at Robyn’s eating fish pie, I hope you all enjoy the episode!”

Viewing figures for Outrageous Fortune season 6, which premiered on Tuesday 13th July had the highest TV viewing figures of the night. Not only that, it also now holds the highest rating ever for TV3, the channel it airs on. More info on that here.

Filming has finished on the final season of Outrageous Fortune but fans shouldn’t be despondent – a spinoff may be in the works. The show’s co-creator James Griffin said such a series had been discussed although nothing was confirmed.

“With something as successful as Outrageous Fortune it gets talked about but it’s kind of half as a joke. But that’s not to say there might not be something in the future.”

Fans have speculated about the possibility of a spinoff since it was announced the sixth series of the hit drama about the West family would be the last.Some members of an internet fan forum wanted a series set in the past and focusing on Ted, aka Grandpa, in his glory days.

Other characters fans wanted to see with their own show included cynical daughter Loretta, played by Antonia Prebble, and her new husband Hayden, played by Shane Cortese.Viewers also thought West twin Van and his hapless best mate Munter would make a good focus for a new show, while another suggested an alternative storyline that would feature West matriarch Cheryl and criminal kingpin Wolf living happily ever after.

Filming wrapped on the final season of Outrageous Fortune on February 26. TV3 hasn’t announced a screening date but said it would show later this year.
